Yanco Product Endorsed By Global Insecticide Resistance Network

Following Yanco's attendance and presentation at an international workshop discussing ‘Insecticide resistance in vectors of emerging arboviruses: Challenge and prospects for vector control”, Yanco has seen its products endorsed and supported by the organisers.
WIN, the Worldwide Insecticide Resistance Network, has now included the insecticide paper on their schedule of available tools, marking a further step forward for Yanco’s paper product being considered for use within the vector control sector.

The event, held in Rio in December 2016, was attended by organisations, businesses, educational institutions and academics from across the globe who discussed and debated the issues surrounding the ongoing threat of airborne diseases. Yanco was one of the delegates that presented at the two day event and has since received positive feedback.

Kevin Riozzi, Deputy Managing Director at Yanco commented: “This was a highly regarded international event that was attended by some of the world’s leading authorities on insecticide resistance. To have our products endorsed by the WIN organisation and included on their scheule of available tools following our presentation is fantastic and will help us strengthen our global presence through increased awareness of the benefits of the paper within an integrated approach to vector control.”

Yanco’s paper based product is being utilised in several continents affected by mosquito borne diseases including malaria, dengue, chikungunya and zika.  A simple, inexpensive and highly effective product for indoor use, once lit, the impregnated paper releases an insecticidal smoke and quickly kills various mosquito species and provides protection for several hours afterwards.  The paper is ideal for addressing the challenge of indoor and daytime biting and is suitable for mass distribution.
